Sundays at BSC always bring a special kind of energy, a little slower and a little sweeter.

The day kicked off with Lazy Bones Sunday, our favorite excuse to sleep in a bit longer and fuel up with Dunkin’ Donuts (because nothing says weekend like sprinkles and frosting!).

After a relaxed start, some of our campers laced up their boots for a hike up Hawk Mountain. The views were worth every step, fresh air, good company, and the feeling of accomplishment at the top.

Back at camp, the waterfront called for a little free swim and time to cool off in the lake. Meanwhile, the seniors geared up for an afternoon of paintball, ready to put their strategy and teamwork to the test.

Whether exploring the trails, splashing in the water, or chasing the thrill of paintball, everyone found a moment to recharge and connect.

What started as a regular morning quickly turned into one of the most competitive days of the summer! The fields were alive with energy as our campers geared up for a full lineup of InterCamp games, baseball, kickball, soccer, and flag football all in one day.

From big wins to hard-fought losses, every match was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and team spirit. It was amazing to see the kiddos apply all they’ve been working on, showing growth not just in skill but in confidence and teamwork too.

Whether they were hitting home runs or cheering from the sidelines, today reminded us that every game is a chance to learn, grow, and have fun 💙

We kicked off the morning like we always do, with sports and great energy, but there was something extra in the air today. It was the Fourth of July! Campers showed up to breakfast in full red, white, and blue spirit, ready to celebrate in true BSC style.

After majors, we headed to the lake for a day packed with adventure and classic summer fun. From kayaking and boat rides to tubing across the sparkling water, the laughs were nonstop. There’s just something special about celebrating a holiday surrounded by nature, friends, and sunshine.

As the sun started to set, we swapped our patriotic gear for something a little more formal… because it was time for Casino Night! With upbeat music, friendly games, and all the excitement in the air, it felt like the perfect ending to a day full of memories.

Today was one for the books, especially for our hockey majors who got to spend time on the ice with none other than Swaggy P!

For those who don’t know, he’s a professional hockey player known for his creativity, skills, and passion for the game. The energy in the rink was electric as campers pushed themselves to take on new challenges, soak up tips, and, of course, snap a photo with him. It was inspiring to see so many smiles and moments of growth.

Outside the rink, our minors kept the momentum going. Tennis and golf continue to be camp favorites, and the peaceful vibe of fishing has become a daily highlight for many. Over at the gym, one of the best sights is watching campers help each other out, spotting their friends, and learning how to safely use the equipment. It’s that kind of teamwork and support that makes this place special.

And of course, the excitement around BSL is building. Games have been competitive, spirited, and full of heart, and let’s just say… The race for the trophy is heating up. Stay tuned! 🏆💙

Daily Blog | Day 8: Carnival vibes, music, and memories 🍩🎤🎡
We kicked off the day with everyone’s favorite Sunday tradition, Lazy Bone Morning! The kiddos got to sleep in a bit and were greeted with a sweet surprise: Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast! It was the perfect slow start before the fun ramped up in the afternoon.
Because this wasn’t just any day… It was Carnival Day 🎉 Our sister camp, Kents Hill, joined us on campus for one of the most anticipated days of the summer. We turned the soccer field into a mini fairground, complete with inflatables, a water slide, a mechanical bull, cotton candy, snow cones, and games. But the real highlight? Our live band karaoke! Campers signed up to sing their favorite songs, counselors gave it their all, and yes, even Koop grabbed the mic to join the fun!
There’s something magical about seeing campers from both camps reconnect, especially siblings and old friends. The sun was shining, the burgers were sizzling, and the energy was through the roof.
It was one of those days that felt like summer in every way. Laughter, music, sunshine, and memories we won’t forget anytime soon 🍔

The rhythm of camp life is in full swing now, and today was all about passion, teamwork, and unforgettable moments.

The morning kicked off with focused Major sessions, drills on the basketball courts, footwork and plays on the soccer fields, swings and catches on the baseball diamond, stick skills in lacrosse, and precision on the hockey rink. It’s amazing to see the kiddos training with such drive and dedication each day.

After lunch, I dropped by some Minors and joined in for a few rounds of tennis. What started as a regular Rest Hour quickly turned into something special, our first Intercamp basketball game against Camp Wigwam! These games are my favorite… The whole camp comes together to cheer, from Rookies to CTs, and the energy is something you have to feel to believe.

Later, we had a little extra free time, and I couldn’t resist jumping into a spontaneous football game with the campers. It was the kind of fun that just happens when you’re surrounded by sunshine, friends, and a shared love for play.

As the evening rolled in, we gathered for our Opening Campfire, welcoming new campers, sharing what makes BSC feel like home, and remembering how quickly strangers turn into family. And yes, s’mores were definitely involved.

Today was all about sports, team bonding, and the kind of fun that only happens when everyone’s giving it their all.

We kicked off the morning with majors, as campers started getting ready for upcoming intercamp games. From drills to team huddles, the energy was high and the teamwork even higher. I joined a few golfers out on the range, and let me tell you, these kiddos impress every time. Whether it’s their major or a minor, they give it their best. We even had a little challenge going, and it was great to see rookies and CTs cheering each other on.

After a full afternoon, it was time for one of our favorite camp traditions: Line Up. It’s that daily moment where the whole camp comes together to reflect, celebrate the wins, laugh at the joke of the day, and hear those well-earned shoutouts and room scores.

Dinner brought comfort food and full plates, meatballs and pasta hit just right after such an active day. And just when you’d think the energy might dip, BSL brought the heat. Competitive spirit took over in the best way, and the fields were full of excitement.

At BSC, we believe in training hard and playing even harder, and today was the perfect example of that balance.

Whether it was basketball drills, skating on the ice, or pushing themselves out on the field, every camper showed up ready to grow and give it their all. It’s only the third day of camp, and yet the determination on their faces makes it feel like they’ve been here all summer.

But then… Something shifted. As the sun kept rising and the temperatures climbed, what looked like a regular camp day turned into something extra special. We decided to surprise the kids and lean into the traditional side of summer fun, and wow, did they love it. We opened up the waterfront for free swim, turned on the slip and slide, brought out the skates for open ice rink time, and handed out ice cream to keep things cool.

Laughter echoed across camp, swimsuits replaced jerseys, and campers got to just be kids, splashing, sliding, skating, and soaking up every second.

The mix of structure and spontaneity is what makes BSC so unique. One minute they’re learning new skills, the next they’re making memories they’ll talk about all year. More to come tomorrow, and trust me, it only gets better from here. 💙

It’s official, summer at BSC has begun!

Yesterday marked the start of majors, and you could feel the energy shift. Campers were all in, getting into their sports, learning, training, and sweating it out like true athletes. Whether it was basketball drills, baseball swings, or gliding across the ice during hockey practice, the excitement to be back doing what they love was undeniable. Honestly, with this heat, I wouldn’t have minded spending the whole day in the ice rink too! 🥵❄️

By the afternoon, it was time to cool down, and there’s no better place than the lake. Kiddos enjoyed tubing, casting their lines during fishing, and just splashing around during free swim. Between the action and the chill, the balance of a BSC day always hits just right.

Everyone’s settling into the rhythm of camp, friendships growing, teams forming, and memories already being made.

Yesterday was one of those perfect camp days, exciting, a little more relaxed, and full of new moments that set the tone for the summer ahead.

The kiddos started with their swim tests to make sure everyone is ready for all the waterfront fun coming their way. Then came the BSL Combine, a Bridgton tradition where campers take on athletic challenges to find their place in our very own Bridgton Sports League. The fields were buzzing with focus, friendly competition, and a lot of team spirit.

Later in the afternoon, everyone gathered for their major meetings, the sport they’ll dedicate most of their time to this summer. From hockey to basketball, baseball to soccer, you could feel the energy shift as they imagined what’s to come. ⚽🏀🏒⚾

To end the night, campers watched Game 7 of Thunder vs. Pacers. Some were celebrating, others less so, but everyone was enjoying being together.

We kick off our first full day of majors, and we can’t wait to see what unfolds.
