Daily Blog: Day 17 – Color War Begins!
There’s something electric in the air when Color War kicks off, and today, you could feel it from the very start. Dressed in green and blue, campers proudly represented their teams. The Philadelphia Eagles and the OKC Thunder. What makes this tradition so special is that everyone has a chance to contribute, and that began this morning with major competitions across the board.
Whether it was hockey shots, baseball drills, soccer passes, or basketball free throws, every major had a way to earn points for their team. Campers gave it their all, and you could see their pride as they pushed themselves harder than ever, not just for fun, but for something bigger.
After lunch, the competition moved to the fields and courts for an intense lineup of games: handball, soccer, basketball, baseball, and flag football. The heat didn’t slow anyone down. If anything, it fired them up even more. The cheers, chants, and sideline encouragement made every play count.
To cool off after a full afternoon of action, we ended with one of everyone’s favorite camp traditions… Our Ice Cream Sundae Party! With whipped cream, sprinkles, and all the toppings, it was the perfect sweet reward. The rookies led the celebration, dancing and laughing with their teammates, a reminder that even in competition, the joy of camp always shines through.
Color War is just getting started, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
