At BSC, we believe in training hard and playing even harder, and today was the perfect example of that balance.
The morning kicked off with our majors, and I loved seeing how focused and passionate the kiddos were. Whether it was basketball drills, skating on the ice, or pushing themselves out on the field, every camper showed up ready to grow and give it their all. It’s only the third day of camp, and yet the determination on their faces makes it feel like they’ve been here all summer.
But then… Something shifted. As the sun kept rising and the temperatures climbed, what looked like a regular camp day turned into something extra special. We decided to surprise the kids and lean into the traditional side of summer fun, and wow, did they love it. We opened up the waterfront for free swim, turned on the slip and slide, brought out the skates for open ice rink time, and handed out ice cream to keep things cool.
Laughter echoed across camp, swimsuits replaced jerseys, and campers got to just be kids, splashing, sliding, skating, and soaking up every second.
The mix of structure and spontaneity is what makes BSC so unique. One minute they’re learning new skills, the next they’re making memories they’ll talk about all year. More to come tomorrow, and trust me, it only gets better from here. 💙
